Hello Shaun
Thought I would drop by this joint, been a while since I stuck my head in.

Anyhoo, since the debacle with the 44 mag, which is still awaiting final resolution, [it struck my smith as weird, he wants to see it, we think it might be a worn cross pin in the sight] I was feeling kinda down with regards to large bore hand artillery. So I went to Scheels, just to look, and there they had a Blackhawk, 45 ACP-45 Colt switch cylinder.

Ive always been a sucker for the switch cylinder Rugers. So it followed me home.

Now I feel better.

Which do you think is statistically easier to load for, the ACP or the Colt? With accuracy in mind.

Howdy Joe, good seeing you surf in here.

The answer depends on what type of loads you plan to shoot.

For light cast bullet loads using a wee bit of fast burning stuff like bullseye, I'd put my money on the ACP due to less air space.

Heavier loads using slower burning powders like H-110, 296, 4227, etc. would tip things in favor of the .45 Colt.

But....you know how guns are, eh? Who the heck really knows.

Give us a range report, OK?

PS

See you next week in the land of Az.
