Questions About Reloading Lighter

Hello:

I love shooting my .30-30. Can you download a .30-30 with say perhaps 10 or 15 grains of powder and create a varmint load for say small critters? I read a piece in a book by Sam Fadala that appears to state this. Can anyone suggest or help?

Powder in a round burns from the back to the front in a controled burn ,fast but not all at once . By reducing the charge you could allow it all to burn at an accellerated rate causing excessive pressure . You should never go below the recipes in your loading manual for that reason . I have seen a couple of handguns ruined in this manner .
