A friend called me up this past weekend and said he had something for me. Usually that means someone gave him some nickle and dime jewelry job for me to do.
Not this time. He was at a range and scavanged me 200+ .223 brass. There's about 200 PMP brass (which seems to be pretty good stuff) and 40 swagged military brass. None of them look like they've even been used with even close to a hot round.
And as luck would have it, I just got 200+ .224" bullets and some powder.

Since I'm not a reloader. How long will it take to reload only 200 casings?

I'm working on it, Outlaw. :)
For me and .223 it doesn't take long to actually do the loading. I weigh each load so it takes a lot more time than if I had a meter but the .223 seems to go a lot faster than the 30-06 and the .357's. I guess my scoop is closer to the .223 charges. I can usually have 20 done in a hour or 60-80 done in 2 hours depending on how many I set out to do.
What takes me all the time is prepping the brass.
All the cases weren't a problem for one load in my tumbler (the can of 30-06 I did as payment was another story :) ). Sizing them takes very little time.
But trimming takes a long time when you have 200 to do at once. I would like to get a power trimmer.
The flash holes were good on all of these so I skipped that part.
I have a hand primer so 200 will go as fast as I can squeeze my hand 200 times.
But I've never really added up the time (and probably don't want to know). I just know that most of it is spent in the brass prep.

They're all sized, cleaned and primed ready to load. So I guess it takes me about 3 weeks to do 200 cases ;)

Wish I had a reloader, it would give me something to do right know. Must be 6 or 7 inches of snow on the ground and a lot more on the way. I see you have your work cut out for you awhile, but you'll have plenty of lead to use this summer.
