I am looking for a new rifle somewhere in the neighborhood of a 7mm. I am seeking advice from anyone with a Howa rifle in any caliber. I want to know how they shoot, how the hold up, and how accurate they are. I want your opinions both good and bad of these rifles.

J-
I will be interested in following this topic myself...just picked up a new Howa today! :D
I have been looking/researching for some time and looked at many different weapons from Savage, to Howa, to Remmington, etc. From all the info I gathered, I think I made a good choice in the Howa.
I went with the M1500 TVS Thumbhole Varmit Supreme in 22-250 (24" Stainless w/ Hogue Laminate stock). I put a BSA 8-32X50 scope atop Leupold bases/rings and have a Snipe Pod bipod on it's way! Hopefully, I will be able to tell you how it shoots at least after this weekend...I'll let you know (from what everyone has told me, it will be worth the wait!)!!! ((mad

Spence, Coy,
I had a fella bring one to me in .22/250 w/an aftermarket stock to fix 'er up for him. I fitted a Boyd's laminate to it and finished it out (bedded it, both glass and pillar, floated the barrel and applied the finish) for him. He scoped it out and I am here to tell you, the durn thing is scary! This particular fella doesn't reload and shoots factory fodder thru it and so far, everything the cussed thing has shot groups under an inch!!!!!! I'd love to see what it would do if he gave it to me to work up a load for it. As for the Howa's, I am currently lookin' to procure one for myself in the near future. As for durability, there is a local shop around here that has sold several of 'em and I have yet to hear any complaints about 'em!

Ah the infamous Howa question. Well 3 years ago I wanted to start shootin ghogs in the summer and was talked into a Howa 1500 in 22-250. I was a Happy Shooter with that rifle,
3/4 in grp were the norm and many, many ghogs gave up the ghost to that rifle.
Howa Industries of Japan has been manufacturing rifles for such noted gun makers for years such as Weatherby, S&W, Mossberg. Great guns for the money!!
Have since traded mine for my current varmint rig but will always remember the Howa!

Ive heard nothing but good things about them.
They recently got a great write up in a major magazine. Don't ask me which one.
