I was wondering if anyone reloaded for the 45-70 buffalo classic rifle by NEF . I just started loading for it and was curious what others were loading for it . That 32" barrel makes me wonder about loads designed for a 26" barrel .

I do not reload as of yet. Not enough space. But I do have quite a few pieces of brass for the 45/70. My guess is around 200 or so pcs. I own a 45/70 Rolling Block made by Pedersoli out of Italy. I enjoy shooting it but theres not really a range over 200 yards for shooting it. Theres not much of a demand for them here if you want them you can have them.

Welcome to the forum Charlie , I was beginning to think I was the only 45/70 shooter on here . I have to ask are you offering to sell your brass ,I'm not sure just what you meant on the last of your post .
They are a lot of fun to shoot ,I just got the Buffalo classic a few months ago and have a hard time keeping any ammo for it , all my friends want to try it . Have you done any hunting with yours ? One of the guys I hunt with uses one on elk and it does do the job .Where we have been hunting most of the shots are under a 100 yards so the limited range is not a problem . Rojo

Not unlike yourself theres not a whole lot of people to talk about the 45/70. I do not hunt very much with it actually only 2 times. I found that its really too much for the deer here in central Texas. I shoot it mainly for plinking and such. Everyone that see's it wants to shoot it.
I purchased mine from a gun dealer friend. Forearm and stock are european walnut, it has brass trigger guard, barrel band and butt plate. It also came with the navy arms 4X brass scope. It tends to open a lot of eyes at the range.
I will send you the brass for free if you want it. I will just need to check on the shipping regulations as the brass has never been cleaned,( the powder residure might create a problem), so with the the country being more particular on shipments it might not even be worth the hassle of shipping it to you. But I will check on it.
I just recently came across this forum looks to be a good one.

Charlie I sent you a private message . As to shipping brass there is no problem as log as its been fired . It can even be sent through the mail . Just not powder and primers they have to be shipped and have a haz/mat fee .
I just recently started to come to this forum and it does have a good bunch of people on here . Rojo

Does the brass need to be cleaned and the old primer out of the casing?

No, the old primer doesn't need removed on used brass. When you pack it though you'll need to pad it so the package handlers don't bang it up during it's trip. I use popped popcorn as a shipping material. Just an idea if this is your first time mailing brass to someone.

Thanks Dary for the info.. I still have all the original shell cartons to use for shipping so they are not damaged in transit.
