anyone shooting one of these or a simialar wildcat, say 25/308 and so on, no I dont wanna here about the factory necked down 308 cases like 243 7mm08 and whatever else there is

Im just thinkn here, seems a 277 would be a great deer elk round

where would you find someone to barrel something like that, Im guessing I could call RCBS up and get some dies set up. what about an action would a reg rem 700 action push the shorter 308 case.

Im offf to work, got like 10 mins to get there

thankx for any replys

Evan, not sure why you would want too, they already have 243-260-7mm08-308-358 on the 308 case. The 277 -308 would work on deer but somewhat slower then the 270win. Why go to a wildcat when we have all these well working calibers in factory rifles? But yes you could build one if you really had to have one just to be different. Outlaw

Im .277 freak and they dont chamber that in factory round so i want it, Id be the only kid on my block to have one or even in town heck maybe even the soursunding area.
id be cool to say when some asks what I shot my last deer with, I used 270/308. theyd be like what.

Ill do some lookn see what kinda chambering I can get done and if I wanna change my 270 not sure I wanna play with something that aint broke.

You're talking about the 270 Redding. You can order dies for this cartridge. Your favorite gunsmith can order a .277 barrel for you and chamber it to the 270 Redding. It's cheaper if you can find a gunsmith that already has the reamer, so you don't have to buy it, or split the cost of it.

sudenly it seems like bland idea as the redding must be the 308 knecked to 277,

I didnt want to do something thats been done before (everythings been done before)

Ill probly just fix up what I have longer barrel and a few other knick knacks.

thankx for letn me know that
