If you could buy one new gun this week, what would get? A new shotgun for bird hunting, maybe a new deer rifle, how about a new handgun? What would it be if you could buy any gun you wanted.ONE and only ONE.
One gun ,I dont want to see a long wish list. Again what ONE gun do you want if you could buy ONE gun this week!!!!!!!
You can't have them all, just one. Say it would be the last gun you would ever buy for the rest of your life!!!!!! What ONE gun would it be. Thanks Outlaw.

What I have:
power line BB gun
9mm pistol (cheap...made in china)
40 cal. Glock G27
a pair of 357 mags revolvers made by ruger
a pair of 1858 replica black powder revolvers with conversions
22 marlin auto
22 remington bolt action
22-250 ruger target
25-06 ruger
270 ruger
30-06 remington
30-06 savage
375 H & H ruger
12 guage winchester auto in 2 3/4
12 guage browning gold auto 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 mag
what I'd like:
1) 17 cal
2) 223
3) 220 swift
4) 10-22 ruger
5) 243
6) 308
7) 7mm rem
8) 458 lott

One gun this week would be a custom 300WSM. Custom so I could get the longer barrel. Heavy-medium heavy barrel based on a Winchester 70.
One gun for the rest of my life? There must be a civil war brewing if that's the case. Better make it an M60 or an M249.

It would have to be something in the 308 line, or maybe a 270. Man thats a hard one to answer for me. I would love to have a wetherby, or a nice tactical rifle. I honestly can't answer that one too many choices. <_<

what if in the US gun sales where scheduled to end and all firearms where to be collected, from everyone except for military and those kinda people. but even them all personell weapons would be collected and confiscated. no more buying and no more owning.
what would you do?????????????? I for one no I would hang on to few, my 270 isnt in my name, and my 357 isnt either, I would lose my 17 25.06 and 10/22.
but my guess is idaho wouldnt give in, hmmmmmmmmm if someone comes to the right persons dorr and saays where collecting alll personell firearmes there would be hell to pay, what are they gona bring the military in to take idahos weapons.
jeeeeeeeeesh and this is what just poped outa my head, bet you can tell its cold an windy.

Well, being here in Virginia, where the biggest varmint we might encounter is a black bear, I'd be satisfied with my Marlin 357 magnum.
Id spend the "last" gun money on plenty of powder, primers, and bullets.
In a one gun only situation, I'd want a lot of versitility in the loads it would handle, for shhoting everything from squirrels to deer. The 357 is also very conservative with components, which means I can shoot a lot more with less powder.
Now if your question means we get to keep our current guns, and only get to buy one more, I'd be getting me an AR-15 with plenty of clips, and ammo. I figure if they're stopping gun sales, it must be time to stand up, and fight for our rights to the end!!

The last gun i could ever buy...HUH........Ok............

My next rifle will be an 8mmSST. I only wish it could be next week. The Charter program M1999 stainless short action with the magnum bolt face is on order, but I'm going to have to wait for a few months to get it in. When I get it in my hands, I'm going to chamber a Krieger 8mm barrel with the 8mmSST. (simply a Lazzeroni Galaxy necked down to 8mm with no other changes).

I just bought one couple weeks ago, #17 9mm Glock. Then guess what? Need to call and check about this.
Yes Glock is replacing frames on some pistols. They choose to call it an upgrade, not a recall. Symantics aside, the problems affected a very small percentage of pistols. This was taken from the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation website:
GLOCK Frame Rails - The Real Scoop!
The GLOCK Corporation has identified a problem with a very small percentage of GLOCK pistols produced between September of 2001 and May of 2002. The specific problem that has been identified is the potential of breaking a rear frame rail in pistols manufactured during this time period. Within the specific range the breakage rate has been less than 0.0188%. So, while the actual percentage of rails reported broken is within any accepted manufacturing tolerance, it is not an acceptable situation to the GLOCK Corporation. It is also important to note that under most conditions GLOCK pistols will continue to function with three rails. A routine maintenance check after each time the pistol has been taken out and used would immediately indicate if there is a problem.
We are, therefore, concerned that a limited number of customers will not get the product we have promised them and what we have always delivered, the very best pistol on the market, in short, a GLOCK.
For these reasons, we have made the decision that in the interest of customer service, replacement frames will be offered to anyone who has a firearm in this range and decides to take advantage of this offer. The replacement frames will have identical serial numbers to our customer's original firearm except the numeral 1 will be added as a prefix. If you believe your firearm is within this range, please call 1-866-225-4098 to take advantage of the ultimate in customer service.
Nothing less than the best for our customers is acceptable to GLOCK and, as always, we will continue to work towards Perfection.
Sounds like pretty decent customer service to me.

NO FAIR ! NO FAIR !! ONLY ONE GUN??!! I am currently paying off an 8mm model 48 mauser that's still packed in/with cosmoline.
BUT, I want a Barrett M82 or 99 .50cal. rifle or an Alexander Arms .50cal.Beowulf (a super sized 7.62) rifle or a S.P.A.S.12 shotgun or a U.S.A.S. semi-auto shotgun or a .50AE Desert Eagle.
The decision would have to be made at the last second on which I'd finally buy. These are what I want to finish off my collection with.
@black ;bang_em
BTW -- Anyone know of an effective way to remove the cosmoline from my new purchase when I get it home?

Regular old mineral spirits.

Since this would be my last gun to purchase, it would have to be a Marlin 444. That would round out my little collection and give me something big enough to take the largest of game with, while allowing me to be able to actually shoot it without major pain! lol

Back to the ORIGINAL question. I think there is only one answer - a good .30-06 with a 3-9x variable scope. Synthetic stock - stainless steel. A new Ruger would be ok - stainless/synthetic. A new Weatherby Synthetic Stainless in .30-06 would be a better pick. A good Leupold scope. This rifle would hunt anything in the USA and would be rugged enough to last a lifetime.

I think It would have to be this one, just because I have been so impressed with the savage I already own, this must be a 1 hole shooter. In 308 of course. it is the Model 10FPXP-LEA- Choate Stock
Suggested Retail - $1,749.00.

Hello guys,
Well, she's finally home!!
I put down the last payment on my 'new' Yugo 8mm Mauser 48A last week.
All the numbers on the gun match up.
It came w/a cleaning kit of which I'm unsure what does what.
There's even a muzzle guard for cleaning from the muzzle, thus protecting the muzzle from impatient/careless troops.
There's a bayonet and scabbord whose numbers match each other but not the gun.
I've been informed that it shoots about the same as a .30-.06.
Now all I have to do is tear the gun down and clean up the cosmoline and get it back together.A fun weekend project.
I haven't decided if I am going to put a scope on it or not.IF I do I will not be tapping the receiver rings.I do know of a couple of sites that'll have the correct bases for my new toy.
btw -- that Louisianna job I was offered a while back has fallen through. They gave the job to someone else. [cont] GGrrrrrr!!!
btwa -- Did I ever mention why I was looking for this gun?
