I recently purchased a ruger 22-250 and was curious if you could help me out on a perfect load. Im currenlt reloading a 55gr. spitzer with 35gr's of imr 3031 Iv had good luck with this load with performance and results but Im curious to see if there is a better load with accuracy and results.

Frankie,
As far as load data for the 250', I can help you out there, but the Ruger's are a little more finicky than most. I love em', but fact is fact. I noticed where Evan recommended 50gr.'s, and they're fine, but I go a little heavier for fox & coyote, and use a 55 gr. load. I've been in the process of working loads for the "polymer tipped" heads like Noslers BT, Hornady VMax, and Sierra BlitsKings, recently. I've got good loads for all three, but the best I've used so far, is the Hornady 55gr. VMax, over 35.2 grs. of IMR4064, in Remington Brass, and a Fed. 210Match. Seat the load @2.400 OAL. You can vary the seating depth between 2.350 & 2.450, or so, but I wouldn't go much farther than that. Some seat out to touch the rifling, or close to it, but for hunting, and due to some gun magazine constraints, this is usually a compromise. I experimented with the seating depth earlier this year with that load and a difference of .050 deeper, equalled 100 fps. more velocity over the chrono. If you prefer the Nosler 55gr, BT, use the same mix with 39.0 grs. of W760.
With the Sierra, 34.5grs. of H4895, and a Winch. LR primer. Same brass for all. Don't use Winchester brass much (unless its real cheap), Remington always gives more bang for the buck. If you need anything further email me at bloaty57@usadatanet.net. Take Care -Bob

A good dose of RL15, topped off with a Nosler 50-55 grain bullet is awful tough to beat for yotes or any other predator. A great combination, and very accurate to boot!

I go with one of the 52-53 gr hp's in the 22-250 rem and have very good luck with them. Outlaw
