Anyone out there have any experience with Tikka rifles. I guess they are owned by Sako now, which is a quality name in the rifle industry.

I am going to be purchasing a new weapon, and have been looking at the Remmington 700 SS BDL in 243 or 270. I have a 700ADL in 223, and am pleased with everything but the trigger pull, which seems sloppy and heavy (I know, I can get it worked on ...). I have heard that the Tikka's are extemely smooth right out of the box, and are a very solid and accurate rifles. I can get either for about the same price, so it comes down to quality.

Anyone who can provide info, I would greatly appreciate it. I could buy the Remington and be perfectly happy, but wanted to check because of the info I have read about the Tikka. I may all be hype, I am not sure. I figured if they are associated with Sako, I would at least check. Man, would I ever love to have one of those, but can't justify $1,500+ for a rifle.

Thanks!

Joe .....

Do your self a favor & check out the tikka.

I think they are great rifles, very accurate out of the box, very slick action, barrel made by sako & the ammo feeds so well from the detatchable magazine.

There are a couple of plastic parts that were of concerne to me when I first looked at them but after several hundred rounds under all conditions the plastic is holding up as well as or if not better than metal & is nothing to be concerned about.

I think they are excellent rifles & will certainly buy one again.

Check them out at www.tikka.fi (http://www.tikka.fi)

Good luck

Between those two the Tikka gets my vote.

Go with what Tumbo said.

I would pay the differance in price for the Tikka over the Remington rifles.I think they are slightly better machined.Smooth working action.

Swift, very funny. I was saying 2in groups at 300. Which is good a nuff for me for big game hunting. My best groups at 200 were .5 or if you want I/2 inch @ 200yds. Thanks Outlaw
