a friend of mines been bugn me to to adjust his winchester trigger ever since I told him I though it was adjustable. today I gave in he was bugn me again so I was like alright bring it by the house after work and well see how it goes. I grabbed afew screwdrives cracked the action from the stock. looked the trigger over. kinda difrent lookn compared to ruger and remingtons Ive messed with.

the trigger has one screw with 3 nuts on it and spring. I was thinkn in my head ohhhhhh this has realy got to be adjustable. so ofcourse I go tighter before lighter. put mor pressure on the spring wich puch mor weight on the trigger. just adjust the two nuts that the spring seats on. but went tighter. so i backed them off alot and I could tell that was the way to go cause I backed em off to where the trigger wouldnt hold, then went tighter. till it felt like it was 2lbs. it ended up being less than 2lbs so I tighter I went. got it to 2.4 lbs then was like ughhh how bout we make it 3lbs hes like okay. so i go alittle tighter grab the scale and walla 3.2lbs on the money. that was close enough for me. jambed the 2nuts together threw the stock back on, and hes a happy camper.

I didnt measuer the pull before I adjusted but Id guess it was in the 5-6lb range.

so simple its crazy. makes me wonder hmmmmm winchester remington ruger ummmmm remington.

adjustable triggers are fun if youve got the right tools and its easy

Haven't I been saying how simple Winchester triggers were all along? :)

You can also turn the center post in and out to adjust the creep.

I like to put a little fingernail polish on the bolts to hold them in place just in case, but I've heard that they won't move.

And the best thing about it is that Winchester doesn't charge you for a new trigger if the rifle has to go back to them just because you had the nerve to adjust the adjustable trigger. I've heard that once the seals are broken on the Remington screws, if it goes back for work you pay for a new trigger.
I'm not sure if Winchester will unadjust your trigger though and I don't know how Ruger handles their triggers.

I did the triger on my M70 300 wsm my self, have never done one before but am pretty mechanicaly inclined and once I took a look at it it just made sense. Just reciently I did the trigger on my friends Browing a-bolt, was pretty simple as well, just had to cut one link off a spring to get the adjustment to go down low enough. then I decided to do my savage 112bvss. Talk about picky, you have to play with about 3 different things to make sure it all still works and has resonable pull, I'm thinking about just buying an aftermarket trigger for it. My wife won't let me sell it and buy one with the new accutrigger....
