Remington 270 cal. corelokt, 150g for whitetail deer I have never had to make a follow up shot with this ammo at ranges up to 312 yards ( my longest shot for a deer), My wife shoots the same round in the 30.06 cal.

I used to load 130 gr spire points for mine for all my deer hunting ,but I haven't shoot it in a long time . Its a model 70 win that I bought when I was in the service . Its retired just like me . LOL Rojo

For decades I and two friends shot 270 WIN on scores of Whitetail. We all had similar experiences using Federal loads. 130gr bullets look better on charts but the bullets would explode without exiting. Most of those animals would run a little leaving no blood trail. More than one had scraps of jacket and lead inside the far side hide. The 150 gr would always exit and almost always tip-em. I hand load now and would use 130s but would stay with a bullet that will stay together better like Xs even for whitetail.

My favorite load for my 270 is 58.0 grains of RL22, win brass, fed 210 match primer topped with a 130 grain Nosler Ballsitic tip.
