Rojo what i do know about them is they are German made Knives by Burvolgel Solingen and Goldsiegel. And they use a 2 step forge for a fine grain structure with bolster, chrome molybdenum vanadium steel blades.
I am curious which knife you bought?

Mossy It does say 440 stainless and has a wood handle . i got it for $7.00 but you possible already knew that too . :D I'm just kidding but you do seem to know your knives . I also picked up a old timer by Schrade+ . it was a 227um with two blades with the bone handle only one blade looks to have been sharpened . Has maybe a 1/8 " tip damage but I can reshape and polish it . cost me $5.00 . Rojo
