Default new to me 77/22 hornet

figured id make another thread for the hornet. shes pretty rough looking but seems to be in usable shape i scrubed down inside and out mounted my 3-9vxII on it now were gona hit the some paper with the 35gr hornady factory vmaxes i was surpsided to see 3100fps marked on the box

ill be strickly reloading for this thing and may even ream its chamber to the K hornet. i dont care for the tapering hornet case.

heres the after scrub down and mount the leo

heres before

the pics make it look better than it is. its dented and checked finish is rubbed off of most of it. not bad though for free. guy that owned it knows im big ruger nut so he brought it by said he stopped shooting it years ago after loseing the magazine. not positive if it was given to me or if its just mine to play with for awhile. either way im going to treat it pretty good

headed off to punch paper now.

fairly impressed with the 22hornet, but the trigger after fireing my 220 feels horrible. i think ill have to take it apart and see what i can do about it. though ill make do as is for awhile

i always shoot of the bipods like this when punching paper. i see no reason to have a rock solid bench when since im not going to be able to reproduce that in the feild.

the group on the right i was mesn with the vertical dial the group on the left is untouched. this thing is quite and there is pretty much no felt recoil.

i think ill pack this thing calling coyotes everyounce inawhile. the wife is wanting to get into shooting something bigger then the 10/22 i think this will be perfect.

pretty impressed since this is as it was right out of the box light pencil barrel and all

ohhhhhh i had thoughts of haveing this improved to the K hornet but i dont think the ruger magazine will allow that so ill just leave it as is

Sorry to hear about the wife. Hopefully the girlfriend is better for you. But as long as she likes hunting and guns she can't be bad.
